Skeer News is one of Perth’s leading online independent news publications based in Rockingham Western Australia.

The Skeer News network built its reputation by becoming the number one breaking news provider in the Peel and Rockingham districts.

While specialising in breaking news, the team also covers a vast range of stories and events, including community news, weather, crime, politics, entertainment, and sport, reaching thousands of views per month.

Skeer News isn’t just an independent news publisher, the network also acts as a freelance news service for mainstream media outlets, contracting for some of the most prominent organisations in Australia.

The service provides vision, information, photos and exclusive stories to Australian and global news outlets including Seven West Media, Nine Entertainment Co., CBS’s Network Ten, and Australian Community Media.

Skeer News’ work has featured in various Australian programs at local, state and national levels such as The Project, Seven, Nine and Ten News, Then West Australian, Community News Papers, Coast Live Radio, Mandurah Mail, WA Today, and more.

Founded in 2018, by journalist and award-winning news photographer Tex Reeks, at the age of 18, the service continues to grow its audience and readership, with the team’s stories viewed more than 600,000 times in 2020 alone.

Tex, has held a great passion for the news and television industry since before he can remember. He came across a live news cross when he was 10-years-old and didn’t look back with his first piece of vision to air on Seven News Perth at only age 12.

With Western Australia’s unhealthy lack of news diversity, Tex decided to create something unique, unbiased, politically central and informing.
