Alleged Pinjarrashooter in custody



Michael Wayne Yates has handed himself into a police station on Tuesday and is now in custody.

Police are still searching for the white Ford Territory registration number 1GLO438.

Police search for Ford Territory that was involved in the incident


Mandurah Detectives are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of 51-year-old Michael Wayne Yates after shots were fired at a house in Pinjarra on Monday.

About 6:00am, it’s believed a firearm was discharged at a house on Hampton Road in Pinjarra that caused damage to the property.

Police believe Mr Yates May be able to assist them with their investigation.

Mr Yates is described as about 180cm tall, with a medium build, short blond hair, a goatee beard and white light coloured skin.

He is believed to be driving a white 2005 Ford Territory with the registration of 1GLO438.

Members of the public should not approach Mr Yates or the car, as he could be armed, but are asked to contact police immediately on 131 444.
