Warm weather greeted boaties who took to the water in droves on Australia Day 2019.

Local revellers celebrated the national occasion in typical Mandurah style – aboard hundreds of vessels in Mandjar Bay.

Flags, colourful floaties, music and plenty of laughter filled Mandurah’s canals in a quintessential local tradition – the annual Australia Day Flotilla.

Police were out in force both on land and water throughout the day.

Officers particularly focused their efforts along the eastern and western foreshore.

Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue were also spotted on the water keeping a close eye on festivities and ensuring boaties celebrated safely.
