Two residents at a Mandurah aged care home have tested positive for COVID-19.
Families and residents of Brightwater’s, The Cove, facility on Hudson Drive in Dudley Park were notified on Sunday morning.
A WA Health spokeswoman confirmed the two positive cases and said they will be included in Monday’s statistics.
A spokesperson from Brightwater said both residence were fully vaccinated including having had their third booster.
“All staff at the Cove and residents are now being tested for COVID-19,” the spokesperson said.
“Brightwater is well prepared for this scenario and we have enacted our outbreak management plan.
“This means that all visits to The Cove have currently stopped.”
It comes days after an outbreak at Juniper’s Cygnet Residential Aged Care Facility in Bentley where four new cases were recorded today.
A spokesperson from Juniper’s Cygnet said two staff members and two residents tested positive bringing the total cases to 12.
Juniper Chief Executive Officer Mr Chris Hall said the care and wellbeing of all residents and staff was being closely monitored.
“Juniper will this week also be working to assist families and loved ones to stay connected with residents through the use of technology,” Mr Hall said.
“No Cygnet staff members have worked at any other Juniper site since the infection was first detected last week.”
WA Health said it was working closely with Brightwater to manage the Mandurah cases.
