Two women have died in a two-car collision near Rockingham on Friday.
Investigators said a 4WD LandCruiser and Nissan hatchback collided at the intersection of Ennis Avenue and Grange Drive in Cooloongup about 7:40pm.
Its understood two men from the LandCruiser allegedly attempted to flee the crash scene.
The Nissan driver, a 27 year-old Success woman, died at Rockingham Hospital.
A passenger of the Nissan, a 27-year-old Cooloongup woman, died at the scene.
The driver of the 4WD, a man in his 50’s, allegedly failed to stop and was arrested nearby.
He escaped serious injury and was taken into police custody before he was transported to Royal Perth Hospital.
The passenger of the LandCruiser, a man, was unable to be located.
Police urge the man to come forward.
Officers from the Major Crash unit are investigating if a vehicle running a red light was a factor in the collision.
Ennis Avenue was closed in both directions at the intersection of Grange and Elanora Drives for most of the night.
