Update: Two injured after moped crash

A moped rider and a pillion passenger have been critically injured after a crash in Halls Head on Sunday.

It’s understood Nissan Pathfinder and the scooter collided at the intersection of Old Coast Road and Seascapes Boulevard about 7pm.

The rider, a 40-year old man and his pillion passenger, a 25-year-old woman, were rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries included suspected broken bones.

The driver of the Nissan, a 52-year-old man, is assisting police with their inquiries.

Major crash investigators spent several hours examining the Pathfinder and moped as it laid partially under the SUV’s bull-bar.

Old Coast Road was closed northbound with traffic directed west along Seascapes Boulevard.
