Burswood fire emergency: Crews battle warehouse blaze

More than 30 fire and rescue service crews are battling an out of control warehouse fire on the corner of Great Eastern Highway and Griffiths Street in Lathlain, near Burswood.

The fire started about 7:55pm, crews are working to contain the fire and protect adjoining structures.

Skeer Media understands the warehouse contains wooden pallets stacked with paper and plastic.

There is no current threat to lives or homes.

What you should do:

As a precautionary measure, people in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed.

Air conditioners should also be switched off.

People should stay away from the area.

If you are already in the area take advice from emergency services personnel.

People with medical concerns should contact their local doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.

Road Closures:

Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
