Car abandoned in Mandurah backyard prompts police manhunt

The Police Air-Wing and Dog Squad were called in after an offender drove into a Mandurah backyard on Thursday.

About 11:40am, police said they were called to an Elizabeth Street home after a blue Holden Commodore drove onto the property.

Skeer Media understands the offender jumped a neighbouring fence and fled the scene.

A police spokesman said the Commodore had false plates and investigators were trying to work out if the car was stolen.

Forensic Police spent the morning gathering evidence from the car.

Despite being assisted by eyes in the sky and the Dog Squad on the ground police were unable to locate the offender.

A police spokesman couldn’t confirm if investigators had made an arrest.

Anyone who may have witnessed a blue Holden Commodore acting suspiciously in the area or has any information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
