Update: Child dies after collision with truck in Greenfields


An eight-year-old boy riding a bicycle has died after colliding with a truck near a Mandurah school this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to reports a child had been struck by a Hino truck on Kookaburra Drive, near Minilya Parkway, in Greenfields about 8:30am.

Major Crash Investigators are at the scene working to piece together what happened, with officers focusing on the truck and a small bicycle with a buckled wheel.

The child was rushed to Peel Health Campus with life-threatening injuries but has since tragically died.

Minilya Parkway is closed northbound at the Greenfields McDonaalds while Kookaburra Drive remains closed in both directions.
