Staff and students at Halls Head Primary School have been forced to isolate after a positive case was recorded on Tuesday.

In an email sent to parents this afternoon, Halls Head Primary School Principal Peter Beckingham confirmed the case had been in two classrooms at the Oleander Place campus and those deemed close contacts would be required to quarantine.

“There has been a confirmed positive COVID case in Year 6 Room 15 and Pre Primary 1 Today,” Mr Beckingham wrote.

“Our school will continue to operate as per normal, with some alterations to play areas and lunch areas which have been implemented.”

The school principal said he was waiting on further instructions from government bodies including the Department of Education and Health.

The Department of Health has been contacted for further confirmation.

The school is one of more than 30 with cases of COVID-19.
