Dirt bike rider injured after crash metres from Mandurah Police Station

Police have impounded an unregistered dirtbike after a rider was injured in a crash metres from the Mandurah Police station on Sunday. 

It’s understood officers spotted the dirt bike, as they left the station, travelling on Pinjarra Road, near the Mandurah Forum, before it crashed into the back of a silver hatchback about 5:20pm. 

The force of the crash caused significant damage to the motorcycle and the rear of the car. 

A pillion passenger, a girl and the rider, a male, were thrown from the bike. 

The male rider was taken to hospital with suspected facial injuries, while the girl walked away unscathed. 

Police impounded the unregistered motorcycle which will be destroyed under tough anti-hoon laws. 

Charges are expected to be laid.
