Driver killed after train and car collide in Beckenham

A man has died after a train and car collided in Beckenham overnight.

Major crash investigators said a black Holden GTS was travelling north on William Street and a train was travelling east, approaching Beckenham Train Station, when they collided at the level crossing situated between Seven Oaks Street and Railway Parade about 11:40pm.

The driver of the Holden, a 44 year old man, died at the scene.
