An elderly man was rescued by firefighters after an incident on a Wannanup Roof on Tuesday.

About 10:30am, Mandurah, Falcon and Fremantle Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to the Rees Place residence in Wannanup to rescue a man that had reportedly fallen over on a roof.

It’s believed the man in his 80’s was trying to change roof sheeting when he fell and fractured his hip.

Fremantle Fire and Rescue were advised that the Mandurah and Flacon units had got the man down safely before they arrived, therefore were no longer needed.

The man has been taken by Ambulance to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment.
