Rescue crews and authorities joined forces for an emergency plane crash drill near Mandurah on Tuesday morning.
The Department of Emergency Services (DFES) including Fire and Rescue, local police, the RAC Rescue helicopter service, and the State Emergency Service teamed up for the plane crash simulation at Murray Field Airport on Lakes Road.
The rescue operation took about three hours after the light plane was put in position by officials and makeup artists created fake wounds on SES volunteers as they acted as victims.
The mock incident was carried out to make sure local authority’s are up to date on how to deal with an aircraft crash emergency.
More to come.
