An out of control warehouse blaze has prompted a structure fire advice for residents in Victoria Park.
Firefighters were called to the RCR Mining Technologies office on Planet Street about 9pm on Tuesday.
Crews arrived to find the single story building fully engulfed by flames.
As of 10pm, 12 crews were working to get the fire under control.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a structure fire advice for nearby residents and urged people to avoid the area.
There is a lot of smoke in the area blowing north of Planet Street, towards Orrong Road, and west of Briggs Street, towards Oats Street in Carlisle.
- As a precautionary measure, people in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed. Air conditioners should also be switched off.
- People should stay away from the area. If you are already in the area take advice from emergency services personnel.
- People with medical concerns should contact their local doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.
Police, ATCO Gas and Western Power are assisting at the scene.
A DFES spokesperson said it was too early to determine the cause of the fire.
