Firefighters rush to extinguish South Yunderup car fire

A car has sustained costly damaged after a fire in South Yunderup on Monday.

About 11:30am, firefighters rushed to reports of a car engulfed in flames on Forrest Highway, about 4 kilometers south of the Pinjarra Road underpass.

Volunteer firefighters from Pinjarra and West Murray quickly worked to extinguish the blaze.

The car is believed to be a Volkswagen Convertible.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) estimate the damage bill to be about $30,000 dollars.

Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, another car caught fire about the same time on Parkhills Lane in West Pinjarra.

Firefighters from Pinjarra rushed to the scene.

DFES estimates the damage bill to be more than $20,000 dollars.
