Greenfields man charged over alleged Smart Street stabbing

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing in the Smart Street Mall on Sunday.

About 2.30am, a physical altercation occurred between a group of people in the nightclub precinct.

The altercation escalated between two males, during which a 21-year-old Meadow Springs man sustained a deep laceration to the side of his chest.

He was taken to Peel Health Campus for treatment.

Mandurah Detectives have charged a 20-year-old Greenfields man with Unlawful Act or Omission with Intent to Harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person).

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
