Lucky escape for Keysbrook driver who hit fallen tree branch

A driver has walked away unscathed after the car he was travelling in crashed into a fallen tree branch in Keysbrook on Sunday.

About 6pm, the male driver was understood to be traveling north on South Western Highway, several metres before Elliott Road, when he crashed into a large tree branch which had fallen over the carriageway.

He told Skeer Media another driver had pulled over and was flashing their lights at him.

“I slowed down, but obviously not enough,” he said.

“The other driver was flashing their lights at me but they were quite bright and I couldn’t see that well.”

He walked away unscathed from the accident.

The car received significant damage to the front window, bumper and right side.

A local resident who lived at a nearby property volunteered to move the tree branch off the road.

Police attended the scene and directed traffic until the hazard was removed.

A Main Roads representative also attended to clean up any other debris left behind.
