Man arrested on bus after police pursuit ends in Singleton


Police have a man in custody after a pursuit through several southern suburbs this morning.

Its understood police attempted to pull over a white Ford Ranger about 6:30am in the Rockingham area.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and officers pursued the vehicle through Lark Hill, Secret Harbour and Golden Bay.

Vision obtained by Skeer News shows a passenger allegedly setting off a fire extinguisher at police as they chase the car onto Reeds Avenue from Clearwater Way in Singleton.

The car chase became a foot pursuit when two occupants fled into bushland after stopping at a cul-de-sac on Penson Street.

Rockingham Detectives managed to arrest one man after he allegedly ran through bushland and got onto a TransPerth bus near the Coles Express fuel station but officers were hot on his tail.

It’s unclear at this stage if the man they’ve arrested was the driver.

The Police Air Wing Drone Operations and Police K-9 Unit were called in to help locate the second man.

It’s understood he is still on the run.

Meanwhile, The Police Helicopter tracked a car involved in an alleged pursuit in a separate incident through the Wellard and Rockingham areas.

Skeer News understands the driver got bogged in blue metal near Mandurah and Wellard Roads next to the train line.

It’s alleged the driver fled into bushland as he discarded personal items, including a mobile phone.

Uniformed officers arrested the man and took him into custody.
