Man killed in South Western Highway crash

A man has died after a serious traffic accident in Wagerup on Tuesday.

About 6:30am, the crash happened at the junction of South West Highway and Willowdale Road.

Police say a silver Toyota Echo was attempting to turn right from South West Highway onto Willowdale Road when it was struck by a grey Mazda BT50 that was travelling along the Highway.

The driver of the Toyota Echo, a man in his 40s, died as a result of injuries received in the crash.

The 17-year-old male driver of the Mazda received minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or either vehicle prior to the crash, particularly anyone who was in the area and has dashcam vision.
