Mandurah Police investigate violent brick assault

Two men have been injured in a violent altercation in Mandurah overnight.

Officers responded to the incident on Myerick Street, understood to be between two groups of people, about 8.40pm.

Police said makeshift weapons were used including bricks and discarded building material.

A source close to the victims told Skeer News at the scene a dog was seriously injured in the ordeal.

Neighbours said they heard screaming and what they believed was a “single gunshot.”

The involvement of firearms is yet to be confirmed by investigators.

One man told Skeer News he saw three men running from the address shortly after the ordeal.

The Police Air Wing tried to locate those involved while police cordoned off the street.

Two men in their 30’s were injured and attended Peel Health Campus.

One man sustained head wounds while the other suffered minor injuries.

Police were witnessed taking photos of piping and wood on the ground after escorting an ambulance to hospital.
