Meadow Springs car fire causes traffic congestion

Firefighters have extinguished a car fire in Meadow Springs on Tuesday.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) received reports that a car was engulfed in flames on the side of Mandurah Road in Meadow Springs.

Mandurah firefighters were quick to respond and had the blaze under control within minutes.

The female driver of the 2010 Mitsibushi Outlander escaped without serious injury.

Mandurah Road’s northbound left-hand lane was closed for a short period of time causing minor congestion between the intersections of Karinga Road and Broadstone Vista.

The fire is believed to have started from a mechanical fault with the damage estimated around $15,000.
