Old Coast Road crash forces RAC Rescue helicopter to land on school oval

A person has been flown to hospital after a serious crash in Herron on Saturday.

The crash happened just before 7pm, on Old Coast Road near Lakeside Parkway.

It’s understood that a red Holden sedan was traveling south when it crashed into a tree.

St John Ambulance transported a patient to Ocean Road Primary School oval, near Dawesville, to meet with the RAC Rescue helicopter.

The occupant was flown to hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

Mandurah career firefighters were on scene to clean up a fuel spill and make the area safe.

Police were also on site to direct traffic and work out what exactly caused the crash.
