One airlifted in Indian Ocean Drive crash


Another crash on Indian Ocean drive has resulted in several injuries which included a woman that had to be airlifted.

The crash was reported about 6:47am on Monday morning near Beacon Road, Wedge Island approximately 5km south of the Grey access road.

It’s alleged a Nissan Pathfinder rolled with four people inside including an infant.

An 18-year-old woman was flown to Royal Perth Hospital, by the RAC rescue helicopter, with serious injuries while two males, 17 and 18, were taken to Joondalup Health Campus with non-life threatening injuries and a 1-year-old child didn’t receive any injuries.

Indian Ocean Drive has since reopened.


There’s been another serious crash on Indian Ocean Drive.

The crash was reported about 6:47am on Monday morning near Beacon Road, Wedge Island.

It’s alleged a vehicle rolled with adults and a child inside, it’s believed one person was ejected.

The RAC rescue helicopter has taken a female to Royal Perth Hospital, while two men and a child were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Emergency services are still onsite.

Indian Ocean Drive is closed 11kms from the crash in both directions.
