Pizza delivery driver targeted as rocks thrown at cars in Erskine

Mandurah Detectives are investigating after rocks were hurled at cars, including a Domino’s Pizza delivery vehicle, travelling up to 80 kilometres per hour in Erskine on Friday. 

Its understood rocks were thrown at vehicles travelling along Old Coast Road near Seascape Boulevard and Oakleigh Drive on several occasions between 9pmand 9:40pm. 

At least three drivers had their cars damaged, which resulted in shattered windows and large dents.

One of the victims, a Domino’s driver, was on his way to deliver pizza when its understood a rock shattered the vehicle’s window about 9:15pm. 

A Domino’s spokesperson told Skeer Media rocks hit the company car and said the driver was physically unharmed. 

“Our number one priority is the safety of our team members and we are currently focused on their wellbeing. Domino’s has offered counselling to the team member involved,” the spokesperson said. 

 “This was not an isolated incident, with several other cars on the street also targeted.

“Domino’s has procedures in place to minimise the amount of cash carried by team members or held on premises.

“Domino’s will continue to work closely with the local police on this matter.”

Investigators said no one else was injured, however, they do believe the incidents are linked.  

Mandurah Detectives have urged anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV footage in the area at the time, on May 15, to come forward.
