Rider airlifted after off-road motorbike crash in Karnup

A rider has been airlifted after an off-road motorbike crash in Karnup on Sunday.

St John Ambulance were called to reports of a crash in the vicinity of Harvey Road just before 5pm.

Upon arrival, it was established a motorbike rider had crashed in the quarry bounded by Stakehill Road and Harvey Road near RockTek and the Baldivis Explosives Reserve.

Skeer Media understands the quarry is often used by off-road vehicles, including 4WDs and motorbikes, for fun.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was injured after a “quad bike” crash.

A 4WD transported two Paramedics to the injured rider located on the southern side of the explosives reserve.

The RAC Rescue helicopter landed close by shortly after.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services and St John Ambulance confirmed the rider was flown to Jandakot Airport before he was transported by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.
