Secret Harbour man charged with Smart Street Mall assault

Mandurah Detectives have charged a Secret Harbour man after he allegedly broke another mans jaw in Mandurah’s Smart Street mall on Sunday.

It’s alleged about 4am, a 19-year-old Lake Clifton man, was in the Mall with friends when he was assaulted.

Police allege a 24-year-old from Secret Harbour struck the Lake Clifton man in the jaw.

It’s understood the the two were not known to each other.

The 19-year-old made his way to the Peel Health Campus where x-rays showed his jaw was broken in two places.

He was transferred to Fiona Stanley Hospital where he required surgery.

The 24-year-old Secret Harbour man has been charged with grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on August 20.
