Serious crash closes Pinjarra Road, Greenfields

Emergency services worked to clear the scene of a crash that injured a man and closed Pinjarra Road on Friday.

About 8:25pm, it’s believed a Volvo Slammed into the back of a Toyota Prado, which had a young child on board, at high speed before ending up in a paddock.

It’s alleged the Volvo and the Toyota were traveling west on Pinjarra Road, near Lakes Road, when a Volvo slammed into the back of a Prado before it veered off the dual carriageway, ploughed through a fence and landed in a paddock on the southern side of the road.

The 58-year-old male driver of the Volvo received significant injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

The 29-year-old female driver of the Toyota and a young child were taken to Peel Health Campus with minor injuries.

A witness told Skeer Media the Volvo had over taken him at high speed before it crashed into the back of the Toyota and left the road.

Police closed Pinjarra Road westbound for over an hour as paramedics treated those involved and as emergency services worked to clear the scene.

It’s the third crash in Mandurah on Friday.
