Teen charged over alleged sex attack on schoolgirl and woman in Rockingham

A teenager has been charged over alleged sex attacks on a schoolgirl and woman in Rockingham.
Police allege the teen sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl near the Rockingham Train Station in Cooloongup about 2:15pm on Tuesday.
Officers swarmed the area around a pathway underpass with Mataitai Loop closed for several hours as it became a crime scene.
Police dog Digga tracked a teen to Council Avenue, where he was arrested after a foot chase about 3pm.
Sex Assault Squad detectives allege the teen attempted to sexually assault a 63-year-old woman as she walked through an underpass under Read Street three days before yesterday’s attack.
The teenager, a 17-year-old from Port Kennedy, has been charged with:
– Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent
– One count of Attempted Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent
– One count of Aggravated Robbery.
He is expected to appear in the Perth Children’s Court today.
