UPDATE: Man charged over violent Barragup home invasion


Mandurah Detectives have charged a Maddington man over a violent home invasion in Barragup on Australia Day.

The 18-year-old was detained by by police on Monday and was charged with several offences including aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will face court on Tuesday.

Authorities were on the hunt for several people involved in a home invasion in Barragup on Australia Day.

About 10.15pm, a Tranquil Retreat home was far from its quirky street name as several people forced their way into the property and assaulted two males and a female.

Two male victims were discharged from Royal Perth Hospital.

A local resident told Skeer Media that he had seen multiple police cars at the home around 10:30pm.

He also said that it’s usually a quiet street.

The Police Air Wing was spotted hovering throughout the eastern Mandurah suburb on Sunday.
