Police including the Tactical Response Group locked down a Golden Bay Street for over an hour after a siege type situation on Sunday.
Officers swarmed a Tangadee Road home and surrounding streets after their search for a wanted man turned into a stand-off about midday.
Witnesses said they heard police on a megaphone telling a person of interest that they were surrounded and needed to surrender.
Details are sketchy but police sources have revealed local detectives were after a man who was believed to be at the house when the situation unfolded.
A police spokesperson told Seven the man detectives were looking for was unable to be located after their search of the property.
The spokesperson refused to say why the man was wanted by detectives.
It’s not the first time this area of Tangadee Road has seen a large police presence.
