Waikiki Subway staff terrorised by a knife-wielding man

Staff at a Subway store in Waikiki have been terrorised after a man allegedly held-up the store with a knife.

The incident happened just before 5pm, at the Waikiki Village Shopping Centre on Read Street near Warnbro Sound Avenue.

It’s understood two team members working at the time walked away physically uninjured but shaken.

Police are looking for a man described as in his 20s, about five foot tall and was wearing a balaclava.

The man fled the scene with a sum of cash, in what police believe to be, a light coloured 4WD.

Forensic police and detectives were at then scene for several hours as they collected evidence and took photos after the store was cordoned off.

It’s understood the police are yet to make an arrest.
