Wanted man arrested after Greenfields police operation

Skeer Media was there as police arrested a wanted man in Greenfields.

Police have arrested a wanted man after a planned operation involving the dog squad and police air wing in Greenfields on Wednesday.

Officers geared up and briefed on the upper level of a Mandurah car park before headed to Bortolo Reserve Sports Ground as they waited for their eyes in the sky.

Just before 6pm, the police helicopter arrived overhead of the Mandurah suburb and officers pounced on their wanted man, believed to be at Paraguay Avenue property.

More than five police cars swarmed the block, bounded by Saskatchewan Way, Harlequin Mews and Paraguay Avenue, as PolAir circled above.

As police moved in, it’s alleged the man tried to flee officers by jumping neighbouring fences.

The K-9 Unit, with the assistance of the helicopter, was quick to track the man to a nearby property on Lena Court, where police made an arrest.

A police spokesman said the operation was standard for typical arrest warrants.

The spokesperson said the man was in police custody as of Wednesday night.

The WA Police Media Unit failed to supply information on why the man was wanted and what charges he is facing.
