Woman assaulted during Wannanup home burglary

Detectives have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with the investigation.

Mandurah Detectives are on the hunt for a man who assaulted a woman during a home burglary in Wannanup on Wednesday.

Investigators said the man forced entry into the property near Regent Drive just after 8am.

The man then punched a woman, in her 20s, and tied her to the bed before he searched through the house for items to steal.

The man is described as about 180cm tall, olive skinned, aged in early 30s, muscular build, short brown hair (slightly ginger) with a brown messy beard and was wearing a black hoody, grey track pants, black sneakers and motorcycle gloves.

He was wearing a black hoody, plain grey track-pants, black sneakers and black motorcycle gloves.

Detectives said a black VZ or VY model Holden Commodore Ute with loud exhaust system was witnessed acting suspiciously in the area about 7:30am.

Anyone who may have been in the Regent Drive area at the time of the burglary, who saw a man matching the above description, or has footage of the ute, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at http://www.crimestopperswa.com.au
