Woman, in her 90s, injured after 4WD crashes into Dudley Park home

A woman, in her 90s, was injured after a 4WD crashed into her Dudley Park bedroom overnight.

It’s understood the vehicle was travelling along Maria Street when it crashed into the front corner of the brick home on Doreen Street about 7pm.

The impact sent glass and debris flying through the air which saw a brick hit the woman inside.

The woman, understood to be 92-years-old, was taken to Peel Health Campus by St John Ambulance with what’s believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman confirmed the driver involved allegedly drove away from the scene.

A short time later, officers attended a nearby property.

On the front lawn was a Toyota LandCruiser with significant damage to the front passenger’s side.

Officers were witnessed inspecting the car and speaking with a man at the house before they took evidence and towed the vehicle away.

It’s understood the man’s daughter was behind the wheel when the crash occurred.

The driver, a woman in her 20s, handed herself into police and is assisting them with their inquiries.

No charges have been laid.
