Paramedics have treated a woman after the second storey of a business complex in Waikiki went up in flames on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to Warnbro Deli on the corner of Safety Bay Road and Hokin Street after multiple reports of a building fire at 12:13pm.
Firefighters arrived to find the second storey, understood to be a residential area of the complex, completely engulfed by flames.
Staff evacuated from ground-floor and neighbouring businesses.
A fuel station was also evacuated as firefighters turned the area into a control point.
Skeer Media understands a woman working at the deli was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a smoke alert for surrounding streets.
Hokin Street has reopened after it was closed by police in both directions.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
